Terms of Service
Effective March 19, 2026
These terms govern your use of Studio (use.studio). By signing up for the waitlist or using Studio, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, that's okay — just don't use the service.
What Studio Is
Studio is a platform for working artists. We provide tools for portfolio hosting, commission management, escrow payments, and direct collector relationships. We are currently in early access and actively building.
Your Account
- You must provide a valid email address to join the waitlist or create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Studio.
Your Content
You own your work. When you upload art, text, or other content to Studio:
- You retain full ownership and copyright of your content.
- You grant Studio a limited license to display, host, and distribute your content as necessary to operate the platform (e.g., showing your portfolio to visitors, displaying work to collectors).
- You can remove your content at any time. When you do, we remove it from Studio, though cached copies may persist briefly.
Acceptable Use
Use Studio for its intended purpose — building and managing your creative practice. Don't:
- Use Studio for anything illegal.
- Upload content you don't have the right to share.
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
- Interfere with the platform's operation or security.
- Use Studio to spam, harass, or deceive others.
We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms.
Payments and Escrow
When payment features are available:
- Payments between artists and collectors are processed through Stripe.
- Escrow funds are held securely until commission milestones are met.
- Studio may charge a platform fee on transactions, which will be clearly disclosed before you agree to any commission.
- Disputes between artists and collectors will be handled through our resolution process.
Early Access
Studio is in early access. That means:
- Features may change, break, or be removed as we build.
- We'll do our best to give you notice before significant changes.
- Your feedback directly shapes what we build next.
Availability
We aim to keep Studio running reliably, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. We are not liable for any losses caused by downtime or service interruptions.
Liability
Studio is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before a claim (if any).
Termination
You can stop using Studio and delete your account at any time. We may also terminate or suspend your access if you violate these terms. In either case, we'll make a reasonable effort to let you export your content first.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as Studio evolves. We'll post changes here and update the effective date. For significant changes, we'll notify you by email.
